Roast: medium Acidity: light Filling: medium Treatment: washed Growing altitude: 1700 – 2200 metres above sea level. Harvest period: October – December Tasting notes: fruit, tea, flowers, lemon. This coffee is one of the most highly regarded coffees from Ethiopia and is designed to delight true coffee gourmets. Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee has a bright acidity, an intense and clean flavour and complex floral notes in the aroma, sometimes with a hint of toasted coconut. The aftertaste is lively with a hint of berry or wine. Yirgacheffe coffee is grown at a relatively high altitude in the south of Ethiopia, making it a strictly high-grown (SHG)/strictly hard bean (SHB) coffee. Because of the height of the coffee tree, it grows slowly, which means that the plant absorbs nutrients longer and the fruit is more flavoursome.
